No $%#@, Sherlock!

That was nice of Tom Ridge to take time out of his day to remind us that there are terrorists out there with bad intentions on their minds.

Gee, thanks, Tom. I nearly lost sight of the big picture and had the twisted notion to enjoy a carefree day. Kudos for setting me straight.

But seriously, was that some smoke-and-mirrors blah-blah-blah, or what?

You could almost hear the Republicans talking amongst themselves beforehand: "Look, the Democrats are enjoying some good vibes and dominating the headlines with the selection of John Edwards. What should we do? Hmm. I got it! Let's send Ridge out to drop a big terror alert, scare the shit out of everybody, and put a damper everybody's day!"

This administration is so easy to see through, it's borderline comical. It has become a parody of itself. It's like a movie - a comedy! - about incompetent, self-absorbed political losers. There really is a good comedy here just waiting to be made.

BushCo. fakes it so real it is beyond fake.*

Ridge's announcement is another example of BushCo's sheer reliance on the so-called 'War on Terror'. They need that omnipresent threat, and they need for us to always know of it. The moment Americans forget about the threat of terror, Bush has lost his calling card. This is ironic considering 9/11 happened on his watch.

I mean, what was the point of Ridge's announcement? Look, we get it! Now let us get on with our day and do our job, while you do yours, which is stopping a terrorist attack, not telling us about it.

* Thank you Courtney Love
