It Sucks To Be Davidson

16-0, unblemished
untouchable conference masters
an entire season as the slayer, as kings
as perfect as snow in the sun
in the newly-lit morn
for the very first time
the snow still smoother than glass floors
or silk ties
but now it's bye bye bye
to unfortunate 'Cats of broken perfection

Drew Brees says hello again
back with the Bolts
making official with pen
his one year bounty, a sizable sum
but the Chargers' cautious faith in him
is but a short LaDainlian run
a test ride in SoCal
and despite the Chargers being
the often chargeless Chargers
and with Brees possibly being
a one-year wonder
their caution is reasonable
Philip Rivers is paid to be more than
retrievable
to be more than a man to forget
Meanwhile, Marty
kicks himself in his sleep still, I bet
pictures of wide right and dancing Jets
pulsing through his head

The UnknownPoet. Nice. Very nice.

The Chargers played that perfectly. They still might be in a real tight spot at the end of next year, but wise move making Brees prove he's legit before giving him the keys to the kingdom. (Although I'm sure he's doing just fine on that $8 mil).

Yeah, messin' with the poetry. Bored, I guess.

And, yeah, the Chargers couldn't be expected to handle that tricky situation any other way. It's not a bad position to be in, but definitely tricky.

If you ever need a fat beat or a good gardner I might know someone who can hook it up.
