Balance is Good

Funny stuff.

Unfortunately, the above photo of Konerko - juggling possibly explosive chemicals (i.e., Ozzie) - is a rather apt description of the White Sox offense currently. So-called small ball is morphing into too many big and overly hopeful swings for the fences, which is turning into a lack of big hits with men on base.

Meanwhile, Freddy Garcia, whose record is much better on the road than at home, needs some wins at the Cell. The home crowd needs that to truly fall in love with him and Garcia needs to get the feeling of lighting the place up - and falling in love with that. The Cell needs to become Freddy's Place when he's on the mound. That'll help come the playoffs.

Of course, Garcia pitched reasonably well last night in a 4-2 loss to the Mariners. He wasn't helped by the Sox offense as it settled for the occasional home run rather than consistently creating mayhem on the paths.
