Cintron To Sox

Now that the verbal spat with Frank Thomas has died down, Kenny Williams is getting down to the business of shoring up any potential holes in the White Sox roster. Enter Alex Cinton, who has been acquired from the Diamonbacks for reliever Jeff Bajenaru.

This moves looks solid as it allows Cinton to play the role of backup middle infielder, which in turn, allows Pablo Ozuna and Rob Mackowiak to concentrate elsewhere, namely manning third base occasionally, pinch-hitting and roaming the outfield. Options have definitely been opened up, and if Cintron can approach his production of 2003, when he hit .317 with 13 home runs, this move looks fantastic.

Besides, Bajenaru was 0-1 with a 9.24 ERA in 13 appearances with the Pale Hose. I wish the guy luck, but I wasn't exactly expecting big things.

Now if only someone steps up in the role of the second lefty reliever to complement Neil Cotts, things will be looking just fine.
