No EPL Yet For Onyewu

U.S. national team defender has reportedly turned down an offer to leave Belgian club Standard Liege for Middlesbrough of the Premier League. A bit odd. You'd think a move to what is arguably the best and most glamorous league in the world would have been met with more excitement.

Or maybe Onyewu wants to stay with SL for experience in the Champions League, which is understandable.

Either way, it's always refreshing to see an American name being bandied about in the speculation and rumor mill of Europe. We could use that more often.

DC just got rid of Santino Quaranta and his $135k salary for an allocation and got a partial allocation from NY for Dema Kovalenko.

While I'd love to see Gooch here in DC, I think DCU are preparing for next season when Troy Perkins, Bobby Boswell and Josh Gros are due significant raises.
