655,000...

...dead Iraqis and counting.

American and Iraqi public health experts have calculated that about 655 000 Iraqis have died as a result of the March 2003 US-led invasion and subsequent violence - far above previous estimates.

...

That means 2.5% of the Iraqi population had died because of the invasion and ensuing strife.

And what has been accomplished?

the one thing this tells us, is that, unless ruled by an ironfisted tyrant, these people (and by people I mean muslims) are bat shit insane and will keep killing each other ad infinitum.

True, but let them kill themselves then. Why should we do it?

That comes to 600 people a day. Think someone might have noticed all those bodies piling up in the street if these numbers were accurate?

Another example of nonsense being accepted as fact.

Yes, I realize the number of 655,000 may possibly be an exaggeration.

However, I also realize that the numbers we're given by our government are surely lower than reality.

The truth is undoubtedly in between and I like to see somebody going after it.

Pliny has a point. at roughly 150 lbs each that would be about 50,000 tons. theyd be stacked in the street like cord-wood.

Totally agree about the "one dead pitcher." Anything to distract from the truly meaningful news.

Now if only there were another school shooting or senator sex scandal. Or something about Paris Hilton.
